This leadership team truly understands students and knows what they need to succeed in college and in their subsequent careers.

Eric S. Juhlin

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Eric S. Juhlin is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CEHE (dba Stevens-Henager College, CollegeAmerica, California College San Diego, and Independence University). Mr. Juhlin has been the CEO since 2010. Mr. Juhlin has held top leadership positions in all facets of college operations. He has extensive experience ranging from strategic planning, to day-to-day school operations, to accreditation practices, and compliance procedures. Prior to leading CEHE, Mr. Juhlin owned and operated a group of nationally accredited colleges in Texas. Mr. Juhlin has served as Chairman for Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), Commissioner for ACICS, Chairman of the Career Training Foundation, Chairman of Career College Association, and Chairman of the Career College and Schools of Texas.

Mr. Gardner is Chief Financial Officer of Center for Excellence in Higher Education (dba Stevens-Henager College, CollegeAmerica, California College San Diego, and Independence University). Mr. Gardner has been the CFO since July 2014 and has over thirty years of finance experience with private, public and non-profit companies. Mr. Gardner has held the top finance position of several organizations including Chief Financial Officer of publicly traded Concorde Career Colleges, Inc.

Kody Larsen

Chief Operating Officer – Independence University

Kody Larsen is the Chief Operations Officer with Independence University where he oversees the admissions, financial aid, student support and career placement departments. Mr. Larsen holds over 20 plus years as a corporate executive with extensive experience in operations, leadership, training, project management, negotiations and creating positive culture. Mr. Larsen holds a Master’s Degree in Business.

Sherril Kaschmitter (Southern Connecticut State University, University of Chicago – Booth School of Business) serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for the Center for Excellence in Higher Education (dba Stevens-Henager College, CollegeAmerica, California College San Diego, and Independence University) – a position she has held since 2014. Ms. Kaschmitter has led major marketing initiatives for more than 50 education companies on both the agency and client side for over 20 years. Ms. Kaschmitter’s focus on student population growth and program expansion has helped both for-profit and non-profit colleges and universities to experience significant growth and development.

Susie Reed

Vice President – Compliance

Ms. Reed is the Vice President of Compliance for Center for Excellence in Higher Education She has worked in the career college industry for the past twenty-three years and has experience as an instructor, Director of Education, Campus President, Corporate Academic Director and Vice President of Compliance for schools in California, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. She has been a board member of California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools (CAPPS) and has also been the Ethics and Compliance speaker for CECU Leadership Institute for five years. Ms. Reed holds a Master’s degree in Educational Management from the University of La Verne.

Alan D. Hansen (B.S. Brigham Young University, MBA Brigham Young University, Ph.D. Illinois State University) has served as the Executive Director of Independence University since 2009. He started his career as a Japanese linguist for the National Security Agency. He spent twenty-five years in various operations management and planning roles in the private sector primarily as a turnaround manager. He served as General Manager for a large training company in Tokyo, Japan and later as the Director of Strategic Planning for Systemax, an Illinois company. In 1999, he moved to higher education, helping a regionally accredited career college roll out its first four-year degree program.

Rozann Kunstle

Vice President – On Ground Operations

Rozann Kunstle is the Vice President of On-Ground Operations for CEHE. Ms. Kunstle began her employ with the company in 2004 as the Executive Director of CollegeAmerica in Colorado Springs. She later became a Regional Director for the CollegeAmerica campuses in Arizona and Colorado and for the campus in Idaho Falls. Ms. Kunstle has been involved in career colleges since 1986 holding several positions including instructor, department head, director of student and career services, and dean. Ms. Kunstle holds a Master of Arts in Management and a Master’s in Business Administration from Webster University.

Matt Gerber has been the General Counsel for CEHE since May 2003. Operating from Seattle, he oversees all aspects of the company’s legal affairs, including legal strategy, corporate matters, regulatory compliance, employee relations, litigation management, intellectual property protection, and transactional matters. Prior to joining CEHE in 2003, Mr. Gerber provided business and legal services for over 8 years to a number of technology hardware and software concerns in Austin, Texas as an early-stage employee, consultant, and founder. Mr. Gerber holds jurisdoctorate, Master of Public Affairs, and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dina Roberson

Vice President – Human Resources

Ms. Roberson’s background includes over 25 years of HR experience, with the last 20 being 100% in the field and the last eight as the head of HR at Center for Excellence in Higher Education. Most of her career has been spent in the educational, medical and high tech industries. Ms. Roberson has worked for private practice clinics to nationally recognized cancer centers that are associated with Higher-Ed. Her high tech experience includes Novell, SonicWall and Waferscale Integration (now STMicroelectronics). Ms. Roberson has a broad range of generalist HR experience in areas including strategic planning, employee relations, performance management, staffing/recruiting, policy/procedure development, benefits, compensation, union-avoidance and HRIS development and reporting. She has taught at the University of Phoenix as an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Business for 11 years. Ms. Roberson received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Science, Human Resource Management from Thomas Edison State University.

Jaime Davis, PhD, is the VP of Academic Affairs for the Center for Excellence in Higher Education. She has worked in higher education for nearly 20 years, with experience in Admissions, Instruction, Career Services, and Administration. Dr. Davis believes that education empowers people to improve their lives, and remains committed to providing a positive environment that allows for personal and professional growth and success. Dr. Davis holds a PhD in Business Management with an emphasis in Leadership, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She is a dynamic public speaker, and has spoken at the several conferences and events on topics such as leadership, communication, customer service, and the power of influence.

Dr. Davis serves on several boards, specifically focused on homeless and underserved populations. She is also active in ministry, supporting her husband with their church and leading both music and women’s ministries. Jaime and her husband, Joshua, lived in Idaho for 9 years prior to relocating to Wyoming in 2014. She enjoys music and the arts. In her spare time, Jaime can be found in the kitchen creating culinary masterpieces for friends and family to enjoy!

Scott Schuler

Vice President – Financial Aid

Scott Schuler is the Vice President of Financial Aid for CEHE (dba Stevens-Henager College, CollegeAmerica, California College San Diego, and Independence University). He began his employment with Stevens-Henager College-Ogden Branch in Admissions in 2005-06. After a few years in Las Vegas, Nevada, he returned to Independence University in 2009 and has worked in financial aid ever since. Mr. Schuler has held several positions within financial aid including Financial Planner, Senior Planner, Bursar, Asst. Director and Director. Mr. Schuler received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Stevens-Henager College.
